Why We Built 53°: The All-In-One Toolkit For Experience Businesses

We built 53° to cut admin and create momentum for experience businesses. Launching with CRM, pipelines, tasks, projects, and automation — with proposals, docs, and bookings on the way. Built by experience providers, for experience providers.

Behind The Scenes

Less Admin, More Momentum

I’ve always loved a great app. The kind that makes your work and life easier. Something that keeps you organised, productive, and growing at a faster pace.

The right tool doesn’t just save time — it creates momentum. It gets out of your way, lets you focus on what matters, and makes progress feel inevitable.

When I started my first business, productivity tools became the backbone of everything I did. From CRMs to project managers, they were mission critical. They helped me move faster, collaborate better, and deliver more.

Simple. Good tools compound — every small efficiency adds up to a big difference over a week, a month, a year.

Then, two and a half years ago, I started working with Live For Today — and I was shook.

The tools in place were slow, hard to use, and to be honest, pretty ugly. It felt like they hadn’t been updated in decades, still limping along on outdated tech. The interfaces were clunky, the workflows were rigid, and the most basic actions took five clicks too many.

You know that feeling when a system fights you at every step? That.

Of course, that translated directly into the experience. Customers felt the friction. The team felt the drag. Everything took longer than it should — from replying to enquiries and chasing payments to planning sessions and tracking delivery.

The more time we spent “operating the software,” the less time we had to craft brilliant experiences for customers.

So I went shopping.

Surely there’d be a modern platform built for experience businesses — something that could handle enquiries, manage relationships, track sales, run projects, and automate the boring bits.

I found plenty of tools, but none that did it all, and did it well.

Some were powerful but bloated. Some were simple but too limited.

Most weren’t designed for the realities of an experience business: group bookings, seasonality, complex logistics, safety and compliance, and a mix of B2C and B2B sales.

Instead, we ended up with a patchwork of expensive subscriptions, time-consuming admin to keep data in sync, and costly Zapier automations glued between them to make it all behave – most of the time.

Every integration added fragility. Every context switch added friction. Every month added cost. And when something broke, it took hours to diagnose, not minutes.

Four months ago, I decided enough was enough

It wasn’t fair that experience businesses had to pay so much, spend so much time, and fight with sub-par tools just to get the basics done – it's a costly business as it is...

So, 53° was born — a more opinionated, more cohesive, more delightful way to run an experience business.

Since then, I’ve been building the foundations of a platform that actually solves these problems.

Today, we’re launching with a strong base — the start of an all-in-one toolkit built by experience providers, for experience providers.

The goal is simple: reduce admin, increase momentum, and help teams spend more time delivering experiences people love.

Here’s what 53° does right now

  • Customer enquiries with flexible, embeddable contact forms

  • Customer relationship management that’s actually usable — clean records, timelines, and meaningful context

  • Sales pipelines that make momentum visible — clear stages, next actions, and revenue forecasts

  • Task management that integrates with your work, not beside it — assign, prioritise, and automate follow-ups

  • Project management that tracks delivery end-to-end — from initial enquiry to post-event wrap-up

  • Built-in customisation and automation — cut repetitive work with triggers, rules, and templates

A few principles guide everything we build:

  • Speed is a feature: every common action should be fast.

  • Clarity over clutter: only the fields and steps you need, when you need them.

  • Opinionated defaults, flexible where it counts: you can adapt 53° to your workflows without building a franken-system.

  • Connected by design: one source of truth for customers, enquiries, bookings, tasks, and documents.

And we’re just getting started

On the roadmap:

  • Digital proposals designed for group bookings, so you get a faster yes — structured packages, add-ons, signatures – all in one flow

  • A documentation system for risk assessments, policies, and internal SOPs — searchable, versioned, and linked directly to projects and activities

  • A booking system that gives you and your customers a smooth, modern experience — real-time availability, resource allocation, and flexible pricing — increasing sales while cutting logistics and admin

  • A waiver system, so safety docs live alongside your customers, not in a separate app.

  • Analytics and insights that actually help — pipeline health, utilisation, conversion rates, and operational bottlenecks

  • Deeper automations — from lead capture to post-experience feedback, without duct tape

This isn’t about building yet another tool. It’s about building momentum.

When your systems are cohesive, your team communicates better. When your data is clean, your forecasting improves. When the admin is reduced, the experience improves — for your team and your customers.

There’s a whole lot more in store for 53°, and I can’t wait for you to join us on the journey.

Less admin. More momentum.

If you run an experience business and this resonates, I’d love to show you what we’re building.

Let’s make the work behind great experiences feel as good as the experiences themselves.
