Forget Your “Why” – It’s Your “How” That’s Breaking You.
We’ve all been told to "Start with Why."
We’re told that if our purpose is big enough, the struggle won't matter. But here’s the cold, hard truth I’ve learned.
Your "Why" won't save you from a nervous breakdown.
Trust me, I have a massive "Why."
I’m expanding Live For Today in new area’s, growing our team development offering and building 53° into what I believe is a game changing platform which will change how founders work.
My "Why" is loud. It’s clear. And yet, in the past, it didn’t stop me from crashing.
The problem wasn't my purpose. It was my process.

Why Your "Why" is Overrated
Most people in the thick of growth don't have a motivation problem. They have a method problem.
They have the "Why" (The Vision), but they lack the "How" (The Execution).
When you prioritise the Why over the How, you end up:
Running on adrenaline instead of systems.
Saying "Yes" to everything because it "fits the mission."
Treating your body like a secondary thought to the "Greater Purpose."
Turning the "How" Into a Science
This year, I’ve stopped obsessing over the vision and started obsessing over the mechanics.
If I’m going to juggle three kids, develop an activity business, and a SaaS launch, the "How" has to be bulletproof.
1. The "How" of Goals (SMART reversed)
I know the 5-year vision. But I don't live there. I’ve reverse-engineered that vision into 3 years, 1 year, and 4 quarters. Now, I only focus on the "How" of today. If it isn’t measurable, it isn’t manageable.
2. The "How" of Energy
I’ve stopped "pushing through." My "How" includes non-negotiables: Daily gym. Zero alcohol. Eating for fuel. I’m not doing this to look good; I’m doing it because my body is the hardware that runs the software.
3. The "How" of Focus
The most important part of "How" is knowing what you don't do. I’ve learned that saying "No" to a good opportunity is the only way to say "Yes" to my sanity.
The Mission of 53°
This shift is exactly why 53° exists.
It’s a SaaS born out of the realisation that founders are drowning in the "What" and the "Why" while being crushed by the "How"—the admin, the bookings, the mental load.
I don’t want to build a business that helps you dream bigger. I want to build a system that helps you operate better.
